Happy Birthday, Becky--2012...

I titled this entry, "Happy Birthday, Becky--2012" because I used the same title last year without the year.  Funny, how fast the years roll around!  I also made Becky a golfing card last year because she LOVES playing golf and her birthday is so close to the Master tournament each year.  Anyway, here is another card I made for Becky and I hope she has a wonderful day!!

This card is Cherry Cobbler layered with Marina Mist.  I saw a similar card on Pinterest and liked it but didn't have the stamp set they used on it.  (Ed.note:  I went back to Pinterest to try to find the originator of this card idea.  It was Julie Kettlewell from the UK.  You can find her version at juliesjapes.blogspot.com. )  I decided to use the trees from Scenic Season for my card.  The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set.

I used the Petite Pennants Builder punch for the flag.  The golf ball is punched using the 1" circle punch then run through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Small Oval for the ball "cup".  I cut the number using another die set.

I hope Becky liked the card and has a wonderful birthday!!

Single Snowflake....

Is this an elegant card or what?  Sometime I make a card that I just KNOW will be a hit.  We are making this one in class this month and we all loved it. 

The card is made from Concord Crush cardstock.  I layered that with Whisper White with the sentiment stamped on it.

Next I cut a rectangle of Concord and punched a snowflake out using the Snowflake punch.  It looks like there is a white snowflake glued onto the concord card, but no, it's punched out. 

I popped up the small  Concord card on the front of the white cardstock and glued one large rhinestone jewel in the middle of the snowflake. The small Corncord card part has a Pear Pizzazz ribbon tied around it.

Here is a close-up of the snowflake so you can see how popping it up allowed you to see under it a bit.

This shows the rhinestone in the center.

My class agreed this is the ideal Christmas card:  it is elegant, yet simple enough that you could make a BUNCH of them pretty quickly.  That's what we all want, right?

Scenic Season...

Hi!  Hope you are having a great day.  I wanted to share another Christmas card I made recently.  This one uses the Scenic Season stamp set.  I stamped it in Garden Green .  Then I matted the "snow" on the ground and punched a circle from a Post It note to put in the sky, so I could sponge some blue on for the sky.  When I removed the Post It note, I stamped the bird in red.  (I think I told you last time I used this set that I cut my bird out separately so I stamp use it in another color.  

                                     

For the white background, I embossed it with the Northern Flurry embossing folder from the Holiday Mini.  The card itself is Basic Black with Bashful Blue matting behind the white.  I stamped PEACE ON EARTH from the Peaceful Season hostess set in the Holiday Mini on the white before I embossed it.  I tied a white ribbon around the front before I put the round "scene" circle on.

 Here is a closeup of the bird and  winter "sun"

This circle is matted with black cut just a bit larger.  I did this to go with the color of the card itself.
